Remember Cocoa

Soft and plush, little Cocoa Kitty,
You came into our lives and hearts
One warm and fateful August night.
 
You had just three short years to share.
On our laps or in our bed
Sleeping till the morning's light.

You, our baby, our blue-eyed girl,
You stretched out in the warming sun
Or curled up by the fire bright.

Our hearts are hurting; now you're gone.
No more "silent meows" you make.
Cancer took you from our sight.

Cancer took you, yes it's true.
But you live on in heart and mind,
With us until our own "good night".

In memory of our dear, sweet Cocoa Kitty, the little Siamese that walked out of the woods and into our hearts.  She 'trilled' us to sleep every night for more than 3 years, sleeping between us, lying over John's arm.  She became a sister to our kitty Chappie, reluctant as he was, and she was a bright spot in our every day.  Cocoa was gently taken from this life on 3-29-08.  Thank you to Nassau Vet staff for their care & concern for us and our Cocoa. We will always love you and remember you, Cocoa "Keeta"!    Pat & John
