How can I help?

If you have room in your heart and your home to provide a safe, loving temporary foster home to one or more kitties, please let us know. Purrfect Companions provides food, litter, litter pans, carriers, toys, veterinary care and other necessary supplies if you can provide the love and care.

As a kitty foster parent, you can choose to help an adult cat, a mother cat with kittens, or one or more kittens. We at Purrfect Companions know that it is easy to become attached to your four-legged foster children, and we invite you to be actively involved in the process of finding the right forever home for your foster kitties. If you are unable to foster a cat or kitten, there are several ways in which you can contribute to the health and well-being of our furry friends. Volunteer opportunities range from helping at adoption clinics to caring for kitties at either Petco or our foster facility in Albany, to helping strictly with fundraising events. If you are handy and can do carpentry or sew, we can use your help as well! If you have a little or a lot of time to donate, you can be a big help to some needy, homeless animals! We appreciate whatever time and effort you choose to make! Please fill out our application and send us an e-mail so we can contact you.

Organize a can and bottle Drive for Purrfect Companions. It can be as large as covering a whole town, or as little as cleaning out the bottles in your garage. Send us the redemption slips, along with a photo of your pet and we'll put it on our web site. Include a short story about him or her and we'll put that up too! Do you have a sewing machine? If you can stitch a straight line with your sewing machine, you can help Purrfect Companions. We provide the supplies for making our own "Kitty Kushies" or Kitty Pillows, including fabric, batting and organic catnip. Please use contact us for more information or to express interest.

Do you like to bake and have a little spare time? We need bakers to make "dog cookies" to sell at our fundraisers! Because we rely on donations and fundraisers, home-made dog cookies are great thing for us. We will give you the easy recipe and supplies if you can bake the cookies. Purrfect Companions relies solely on donations to care for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We are asking for your support. We offer tax deductible receipts for your taxes. Below is a list of items that we need at our shelter to provide for our cats. As we rely solely on volunteers and donations, we are ALWAYS in need. Please help and donate! You can e-mail us or call 518.463.8709 to dropoff or have us pickup donations.

We will be happy to supply you with a letter thanking you for your donation that you can use as proof to the IRS.
